Safety on equipment.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR SAFETY ON MOUNT KILIMANJARO

At Savannah Odyssey, your safety is our highest priority. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro is a serious high-altitude expedition, and we believe there should be no compromise when it comes to health, preparedness, and emergency response.
We operate to standards that go well beyond what is commonly practiced on the mountain, giving our international clients peace of mind from the moment they book until they safely return.

COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY & MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
On every Kilimanjaro climb, our teams are equipped with:
Portable Altitude (Hyperbaric) Chamber – for immediate treatment of severe altitude sickness
Emergency Oxygen Tanks – for rapid response at high altitude
Portable Stretchers – for safe evacuation if needed
Stethoscopes – to monitor lung condition
Pulse Oximeters – to track oxygen saturation levels daily
Thermometers – for early detection of illness
Fully Stocked First Aid Kits – carried by trained guides

OUR OXYGEN POLICY – ABOVE INDUSTRY STANDARDS
Many operators on Mount Kilimanjaro carry very limited oxygen—some provide only 1–2 tanks for a group of 10 climbers, while others do not carry oxygen at all.

At Savannah Odyssey, we consider this unacceptable. Our oxygen policy is designed for real emergencies, not minimum compliance:
10 climbers: 6 oxygen tanks
4 climbers: 3 oxygen tanks
2 climbers: 2 oxygen tanks
Our guides will never lead a Kilimanjaro expedition without sufficient oxygen. Adequate oxygen supply is mandatory on every climb we operate.

WHY THIS MATTERS TO YOU
Altitude sickness can affect anyone, regardless of fitness or experience. Being properly equipped can mean the difference between a safe descent and a serious medical emergency.

When you climb with Savannah Odyssey, you are choosing:
A company that prioritizes life over profit
Guides who are trained, prepared, and empowered to act
A team that treats your safety as non-negotiable
We don’t just guide you to the summit — we bring you back safely.
